T-1 Day: Packing for my surgery

I have been following Roxy’s awesome blog.

It has really helped me prepare for my surgery and encouraged me to try blogging about my own experience. I am really anxious and not sure how I will do after surgery. I hope to be brave and stay positive through this whole experience.

Here is what I’m packing:

Sleep Mask
Ear plugs
Owl Flannel Pajamas
Tank Top
Socks
Velcro Teva sandals (I think these will be easy to wear over socks)
Puffs Tissues with Lotion
Q-tips
Avene mineral water spray
Facial wet wipes
Mirror
Extension cord for my iPhone charger
Blistex Lip Medex
White Board with Expo Markers and Eraser
Post-its and a pen
A printout sheet with basic questions and statements (How did the surgery go? ..I’m in pain..etc)

I didn’t create a full meal plan and am wishing that I had. I have a few protein shakes, broth’s, soups, whey protein powder, etc handy–along with my blender. I also borrowed a friend’s juicer.

I haven’t taken anything for my anxiety, although Dr. Hasse, my surgeon did prescribe me a few Ativan pills in case I needed them. I think I might take one tonight to calm me and help me sleep. The next time I post I will be post-op!
